I ‘m thrilled to introduce myself to readers of The Voice of San Francisco as its new editor in chief. I’ve contributed to The Voice since this past April, having come on board after reporting for the San Francisco Standard for two years. Previously, I covered policy and politics at the Bay City Beacon, a community news outlet active in the late 2010s. Like many San Franciscans, I’ve been a person of many hats in the 30-plus years I’ve lived here as a grownup. I’ve been following San Francisco politics and policy for over 25 of those years.
At The Voice, we are committed to giving you, our readers, an unbiased and informative look at what’s going on in the City by the Bay, from City Hall to our many diverse neighborhoods, through the multiple ways our online format allows. I’m committed to bringing you even more in that direction. I’m excited to continue working with our CEO, Susan Reynolds; our publisher, John Zipperer; and our talented and experienced contributors to bring you truly informed insight into our town’s goings-on without strings attached.
As we enter the home stretch of this watershed election season, we must remember that the story of San Francisco’s recovery is far from over. Regardless of the outcome of this election, the coming years will be a crucial process of reinvestment in our city. Public accountability is key to ensuring its success and its benefit to everyone. That is our Job One.
