At approximately 6:45 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2024, an armed robbery near the intersection of Sacramento and Kearny in San Francisco was reported to 911.

According to scanner audio from the incident, a victim, possibly of South Asian descent, was robbed at gunpoint of his watch and other items by two suspects, both of them reportedly Black males. The suspects reportedly fled in a dark-colored Acura with Minnesota plates.

Approximately just three minutes after the initial 911 call came in, SFPD Central units reported that they were behind the vehicle at New Montgomery and Mission Street.

SFPD “lit it up,” which means they activated their lights in an attempt to pull over the vehicle; however, the vehicle fled from the SFPD officers and almost immediately crashed into an uninvolved motorist at the intersection of 3rd St. and Folsom St. The uninvolved motorist was not injured.

Immediately after the collision, the two suspects in the Acura fled on foot, resulting in a foot pursuit by SFPD. Within minutes, both suspects were brought into custody outside of the Asana building.

At this current time, it is not known to us if a firearm was retrieved by SFPD.

SFPD dispatch radio has requested any units with information pertaining to this vehicle and any associated felony crimes to respond on the air.
