Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow will prevent the USPS from delivering your mail — but a Glock pistol shoved in the face of a U.S. postal worker presents a different, more acute threat that simply cannot be overcome with dedication and tenacity alone.
Here’s what we think we know:
Around 4:15 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024, a U.S. postal worker was allegedly robbed at gunpoint by two individuals in the Outer Mission area close to the border of Daly City. At this current time of posting, we believe the incident to have taken place on Flourney Street between Rhine St. and San Jose Ave.

According to the postal worker who provided information to the investigating SFPD units, two suspects, reportedly one black male and one white male, ambushed the worker and brandished a black Glock firearm.
Items reportedly stolen from the victim:
- All the keys that the postal worker had on them
- Including the keys to the USPS collection box
- and to the USPS mail truck that the worker was driving
The suspects’ vehicle was reportedly a black Dodge Charger with tinted windows and a front plate that had been taped over with duct tape, and it was last seen headed toward San Jose Ave.
Suspect vehicle located
Around 7:45 p.m. last night, the same evening of this armed robbery, SFPD units located what they believed to be the suspects’ vehicle, the black Charger, located at or near 315 Niagara, unoccupied, and with a license plate of 7RJW003.

At the time of posting, this is the latest information we have. This story is developing and we will keep this updated as we learn more.
